Congratulations to Daniel Pata, whose watercolour paintings Bridges Before the Louvre, 56×76cm and Etretat, France, 56x76cm are exhibited in ALLA PRIMA: Italian and Australian Watercolour Masters 2024 Exhibition at the Italian Cultural Institute, Sydney.
This exhibition, bringing together forty works by ten Australian and ten Italian watercolour artists, is a joint collaboration between the Australian Watercolour Institute, the City of Fabriano and the Biennial Fabriano Watercolour International Prize.
The exhibition is curated by David Van Nunen OAM, President of the Australian Watercolour Institute, and Giorgio Pellegrini, former Director of the Museum of Paper and Watermark in Fabriano.
The dialogue between Italian and Australian art has a long history, and has been especially defined by the increased presence of Australian artists in both the jury and competition of the Biennial Fabriano Watercolour International Prize.
This is the first time that this collaborative exhibition has been held in Sydney and demonstates the mutual influences seen in both the Italian and the Australian watercolour tradition.
This exhibition will travel to the City of Fabriano, Italy in 2025.
