The Burnie Regional Art Gallery’s flagship exhibition and competition, the Burnie Print Prize celebrates the highest standards of printmaking in Australia and Oceania.
As one of Australia’s richest and most prestigious printmaking awards, the competition underscores the importance of this arduous and exacting medium.
This years Judges are: Dianne Fogwell, Artist, printmaker, curator, lecturer, co-founder Studio One Print Shop and founder/Director of the Criterion Press; Dr Roderick Ewins, Artist, printmaker, Adjunct Researcher UTAS, former head of the Tasmanian School of Arts and Tracey Cockburn, Artist, printmaker, Arts & Cultural Development Coordinator – Clarence City Council.
Burnie City Council Mayor Steve Kons said The Burnie Print Prize is one of Australia’s richest and most prestigious printmaking awards with a major prize of $15,000. It began in 2007 and is held every second year. The winning work goes into our growing and specialist permanent art collection.
