Congratulations to Claudio Valenti, finalist in the 2024 (11th) KAAF Art Prize Exhibition, with his drawing, Garment Chronicles, 2024.
The Korea-Australia Arts Foundation Prize (KAAFP) has both acquisitive and non-acquisitive cash prizes totalling more than $24,000 for the artists. This year the judges selected 41 works from over 400 entries.
KAAF’s main goal is to seek support for the Australian multicultural society and to take part in promoting and enhancing a truly cultural and ecological community by bringing artists together from diverse ethnicities, from all over the nation.
The 2024 Judges were Mr. John McDonald, Art Critic & Film Critic; Mr. Oliver Smith, Senior Lecturer, SCA.
This work is part of a series of drawings where each of them brings forth memories, personalities, and cultural resonances that garments carry over time. Through line, tones and intentional compositions ‘Garment Chronicles’ seeks to connect viewers with the unseen narratives, exploring how clothing serves as both a personal and collective chronicle. ~ Claudio Valenti, 2024
