Congratulations to Graham Marchant, whose painting, Leura Mist has been selected as finalist in the 2016 EMSLA Still Life Award, Coffs Harbour Regional Gallery, NSW.
Celebrating its tenth year in 2016,
It was the brainchild of Dr Mal Eutick, who wanted to honour the memory of his parents while contributing to the artistic and cultural life of Coffs Harbour.
This year we had over 220 entries from all over Australia and 68 finalists have been selected by judges Nat Thomas (artist & arts writer/cultural commentator); Michael Fitzgerald, (art writer & editor of Art Monthly Australasia); and Dr Julie Fragar, (artist & Associate Lecturer, Fine Art, Queensland College of Art, Griffith University).
The quality and diversity of the entries we received made it a very difficult job for the judges to shortlist the finalists. I don’t envy them trying to pick the ultimate winner, said Abigail Moncrieff, Acting Curator of the Gallery.
The winner will be announced at the opening of the EMSLA Exhibition 11 November 2016.
Exhibition Dates: 11 November 2016 – 07 January 2017.
