Congratulations to Graham Marchant – finalist in the 44th Muswellbrook Art Prize | Works on Paper with his watercolour Poppies and Morning Mist, Leura.
The Muswellbrook Art Prize began in 1958 as the Festival of the Valley Art Prize with the inaugural first prize work entering the newly created Muswellbrook Shire Art Collection. In 1965 the acquisitive prize for Works on Paper was added to this acquisitive prize.
The Muswellbrook Art Prize selects only the very best works to compete in the final adjudication and displayed in the exhibition. This year, 71 finalists were chosen across the three sections of the Prize from 710 entries.
The selection panel for this award were Brad Franks, Arts Centre Manager; Jade Goodwin, Arts Centre Assistant, Muswellbrook Regional Arts Centre, and Bruce Tindale, Visual Art Consultant. The Judge/Adjudicator was Professor Ian Howard.
