A Sydney-based painter working from her studio at the Headland Park Artists Precinct in Mosman, PJ brings a rare combination of technical mastery and quiet intensity to her practice. Trained at the Julian Ashton Art School and Sydney College of the Arts, her background includes an unexpected chapter as a trompe l’oeil specialist — the exacting art of painting so convincingly the eye is deceived — before turning that same precision toward the sea.
Her paintings sit at the shifting edge between realism and abstraction: solid forms unmoored, familiar surfaces tipping toward the uncanny. In 2023, her work Diaspora 3 was selected as a finalist in the London Biennale Art Exhibition — a strong signal of a practice now reaching a wider audience.
